Last month, a group of journalists from around the world attended a press trip that followed the journey of a lily flower from breeding right through to the retail end of business. The trip culminated in a design demo by renowned Dutch florist Tineke Geerlings.
This colourful design combined an Elho container with twigs painted yellow, red and yellowy/orange small headed lilies and variegated foliage in a design that’s modern, eye-catching and perfect for a restaurant or corporate display.
Using the same container as before, this design was created to show two different designs in one – one one side soft and summery with Longi lilies and pink hydrangeas, the other wintry with the silver twigs and white Orientals.
Tineke is a big fan of packaged gift designs, such as this watering can filled with lilies – the perfect housewarming gift perhaps?
A more traditional design that shows the versatility of lilies.
Another traditional design highlighting the fashion for creating compositions using lots of small containers.
A more rustic idea that takes advantage of the lily colouring.
And finally, another rustic design, this time also showing how composition can be used to great effect. This would look great in any florist shop.
