It’s one month ‘til International Poinsettia Day! So why not help us kick-start the annual Stars for Europe campaign (the EU sponsored campaign which aims to encourage Poinsettia sales all over Europe) with the introduction of an extra-special Christmas Lonely Poinsettia project.
The Lonely Bouquet movement – our favourite summer project – was a phenomenal success in the run up to International Lonely Bouquet Day in June, so we’re hoping to promote the fantastic Lonely initiative by adding a Christmas twist… a Lonely Poinsettia campaign!
Either leave a Lonely Poinsettia plant in public for a stranger to find to brighten their day or make a Lonely Bouquet using cut poinsettia to add that festive touch to the movement that got everyone smiling in summer. Don’t forget that it’s also an extremely cost-effective form of advertising and promotion for your own business. Just remember to attach a “take me!” tag to the poinsettia, ensuring it includes the Lonely Poinsettia Facebook address (facebook.com/thelonelypoinsettia) and your business name or Facebook address.
We’re targeting consumer press with tons of poinsettia promotion – from lifestyle glossies to local papers and blogs, encouraging them to feature the festive little plants. We’re going to be doing a big push in the run up to Poinsettia Day on December 12th, so it’s the perfect time to join in with the commotion by leaving a Lonely Poinsettia up for adoption. Last year we got 100 pieces of media coverage… this year we’re aiming to smash that! So by joining in, you may even find yourselves in the papers!
Plus we’re going to send a gorgeous poinsettia umbrella to the first 40 of you who post a photo of your abandoned Lonely Poinsettia on facebook.com/thelonelypoinsettia!
And don’t worry… we know that poinsettias don’t cope well in the cold, so we thought of a few solutions for keeping them warm whilst they’re lonely. Click here to read more.
